Daniela Fábián Masoch, Attorney at Law and Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E, CIPM, FIP), ISMS 27001 Lead Auditor, is the founder of FABIAN PRIVACY LEGAL GmbH.
Daniela has more than 30 years of experience in privacy and data protection, information security, information law, employment law, risk and program management, security and related matters. She advises multinational companies, SMEs and start-ups from various industries mainly in the EU, Switzerland and the US on data, data protection, security and related issues, particularly in the life sciences, pharma and medical device sectors.
Daniela is a frequent speaker at conferences and member of various associations. She is founder and chair of a Privacy Expert Roundtable (Life Sciences) in Switzerland and lecturer for the CAS Datenschutz at Fernuni Schweiz as well as for Digital Marketing and Data Protection at Swiss Health Quality Association.

Professional Experience
- In-depth knowledge of applicable practices and laws related to global, European and Swiss data protection, security and related matters, privacy governance, compliance and risk management; human resources, information technology, health, safety and environment; contracts and contract negotiations
- Strategic advice on data protection governance structures; management of a global privacy function; development and implementation of full privacy programs, policy frameworks, organizational models, procedures, templates, data transfer governance models including Binding Corporate Rules (BRC), EU standard contractual clauses, intra-group data transfer and processing agreements, etc., privacy notices including cookie policies as well as processes in a variety of privacy-related areas
- Conceptualizing global and local training programs and awareness campaigns; development and performance of different types of customized data protection trainings
- Designing and implementing effective risk management and privacy controls; preparing and conducting privacy maturity and management practices assessments, data protection and security audits
- Planning, developing, and performing data mapping exercises for gathering, documenting, and assessing processing activities, data, and data flows
- Development of vendor management programs; review and negotiation of outsourcing contracts; preparation and performance of vendor assessments
- Handling of data breaches and access requests, including assessment of risk and notification requirements, notification, and reporting
- Mandates for several national and international companies as external DPO and external in-house privacy consultant for all privacy-related matters
- Specific experience in privacy-related questions regarding research / clinical trials
